Raised in a small village in the wilds of West Norfolk (England), songwriter and musician Peter Appleyard, has always found the big skies and open spaces of his home county the ideal companion to his creative imagination.

Primarily drawing together acoustic, folk and rock influences, Peter is happy to give his musical instinct a free rein and draws on whatever feels right. What you can expect are rich dynamic melodies, poetic lyrics, powerful and distinctive vocals, with the odd anthemic hook thrown in for good measure.

To understand where Peter takes his inspiration from, listen to the early 'folkier' leanings of 70s acts like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Elton John. Following on from these you are also likely to find him listening intently to albums by singer/songwriters Ryan Adams, Neil Young and more recently Damien Rice and Jack Johnson.

To date Peter's musical path has taken a diverse and interesting route, testing his skills in writing music for television, silent films, musicals and even venturing into classical music. If you have been listening to your TV carefully you will have heard Peter's music being used as background music in Eastenders and Doctors on BBC1!

From the earliest folk club jam sessions, to supporting national touring artists, Peter's music has always been captivating.

Throughout 2009 Peter was busy working hard at the Mill Studio, Winfarthing, Norfolk with experienced engineer/producer Jonny Cole (Catherine Feeny, The Kabeedies, The Rushes)on his debut album 'Day in the sun'. The album features the stellar band of Stefan Judd on bass/percussion and Craig Brown on drums as well as guest musicians Steve Bingham on Violin, Jay Banmuller of London band 'Therminology' on Keys and his sister Helen on backing vocals.

Launched on October the 2nd at a special concert on the Royal Sandringham Estate, tracks from the album have since been nominated in two categories at the Exposure Music Awards East, held at the Cambridge Junction.
